Examples of Videos, which will be visible in the centre of the sphere:
Miniverse,
built with hundreds of layers, marks the movement into a new sculptural
form.
This new series of works, are spheres of 50 - 300cm diameter, perfectly
round, their surfaces broken only by 3 - 5cm diameter holes that are entrances
to funnel-shaped tunnels that enlarge towards the center of the globe,
taking the eye toward the centre
of this microcosm. The tunnels - like synapses of the brain that transport
and transform information - guide the eye toward round videos on monitors
in center of the globe.
These monitors display original video content by Katja Loher. The artist presents
a bird's eye view of people in minimalist uniforms performing a highly structured
choreography. This unique perspective creates a new language in the video medium,
a language that while almost literal in its narrative form renders the familiar
surreal and unknown; as if presenting the figures and their actions as amoebas
under a microscope for us to study.
